Thread: RCT2 on Win7 machine

    RCT2 on Win7 machine

    Hi! Does anyone have any idea why RCT2 will not install on my new machine? I'm running Win7 SP1 and have a relatively newer machine. I can give more specs if necessary.

    The Game you have, Is it Boxed Version or Steam Version?

    what error is it giving you?

    I can install both original Retail CD version, plus the GOG version without any problems on windows 7 x64

    Try enabling Windows XP Compatibility mode and allow it to run as Administrator. I've had both the Steam version and the original boxed version install just fine on Windows 7 and 8.

    this will work once the Game is INSTALLED, they way i read the post, he cant actually get the game to install in the first place, hence why i asked is Steam or disk, as the disk could have crapped out.

    one time i had to choose the manual installation type to make it work.

    Lack of administrator privileges for the installer EXE will also cause it not to install.

    I never had any trouble with installing or playing RCT1 RCT2 on Win Vista, 7, or even 8 on 64bit.
    If you have trouble just use compatibility change it to Windows XP Service Pack 3

    I've had both the Steam version and the original boxed version install just fine on Windows 7 and 8.
