RCTW - Early Access - Community Spotlight - Loch Ness

It is time once again for our Weekly Community Spotlight! This week we are featuring some great work done by Blitser! He created a park called Loch Ness and compiled a nice YouTube fly-through of his “Work In Progress” video which you can find below.

Blitser has also created some other cool parks and you can check out the screenshots of his work over on his Steam Profile (Also linked below).

We are also deep in development for our next update! This new build is headed to QA at the end of this week and we hope to be able to release it sometime next week!

The update will tentatively include (pending QA approval of course) Path System Improvements, Performance Improvements, Full Roll-out of Screen Space Reflections, Terrain Texture Improvements, numerous Peep AI improvements, and UI improvements to the UGC Hub! Additionally, we are working on some new content, a number of other improvements, and of course a ton of bug fixes which we will reveal closer to the release of the update.

As always, if you want to be featured, definitely let us know here on our forums!

This is a little bit confusing and I may get things slightly wrong, but my understanding of it is that it's a post-processing effect on graphics that makes reflections look more realistic. This is done by rather than making every surface a perfect reflector, it makes it reflect in a slightly different way - so dull metal might give you fuzzy shapes, water might reflect in wavy shapes with no real clean lines, and then a mirror would give you a perfect reflection.

    Too confusing?

It's a swanky graphics trick to make reflections look more realistic!

Said better than I could have, but more specifically, I believe he's talking about the reflections on the buildings. The wavy patterns in the water would be nice because right now it's just like a mirror reflection as you mentioned. It should be distorted.

Good to know there are performance improvements though. We've all been waiting for this Is there an approximate ETA for the update yet?

A really nice park. The best I've seen so far from this game.
