Sure, in 2018... Let's get a game that Everyone can play before development time is spent on something that isn't for sale yet, doesn't have a price tag, and we don't know if it will be like the Betamax, or like the VHS
And we have talked this to death several weeks ago in a thread that is deeper in the forum
Sorry Prophet, but the truth is no one knows if OR is going to be the VR device of choice.
Maybe when it becomes more mainstream. I doubt many people would use the feature.
Why is everyone saying OR support is a "must have"?
Come on people....like 1 out of every 100,000 people have an OR or something like that. I don't know a single person who has one.
You REALLY think they MUST HAVE a support for something only 0.0001% of their fan base is gonna use or has access to? This craziness has to stop.
Sorry, but VR devices don't interest me neither. Can be kinda neat for a little bit , but it soon gets rather annoying.
Ha, craziness? Facebook bought it for 2 billion dollars, Sony's coming out with one for the ps4. There are also six other rip offs coming down the pipe. Also for an estimated $500, you can own one. The rig needed to play rctw will prob cost more than that if your not up to spec...I am more dumbfounded by the fact peeps are so sceptical have you watched any lets plays?
You state exactly why this is totally premature. Not to mention $500. It is a lot of money for an untried concept that no one knows whether it will be something a lot of people get, or a minority get.
Would you, if you owned Atari want to spend money programming for Oculus support and then find out that Sony's VR was the device that everyone was buying. Or that no one was buying. Because only gamers really wanted VR, but they were not going to buy it until the Xmas season, and that is 9 months away?
Spending money on an untried technology can be risky. How long ago was Google Glass announced, and we can see how many people are using that. How about Tablets. Do you remember the Newton? That wasn't even the first tablet. How about the Palm Pilot? That was a tablet. That did not even do a tenth of what our current tablets can do. So that Technology was released well ahead of capabilities. And it was not a technology, either the Newton or Palm, that was so well adopted that it had legs to claim the multi hundred millions of users in 4 years that tablets now have and have become something that developers know will not fade away. What if VR is rushed out the door to return some of that 2 Billion and it is not ready for gaming.
The specs also for RCTW may well meet the needs of the many computers already out there so people wont have to upgrade computers. We dont know yet.

If you really want oculus support just get really close to the computer screen....atari shouldn't waste their time with vr atm
oculus rift support shouldnt be important. its not wanted by the majority of players and at the moment is just a novelty
