Not trying to be funny here but eh, I thought I never heard of them before and err, aparently its because they have never made a game before? should they really be intrusted with a massive franchise like Rollercoaster Tycoon? Went over to their website to see who they are and stuff, to see what other games they've done, and there is nothing! Obviously they aren't entirely new im sure some of the devs have been around awhile and worked on many games but was just shocked that Atari wouldn't get a developer with some serious experience behind them. Last thing you need is your number 1 franchise to go in the toilet because it was handed over to in-experienced developers?

Do we have any info on who they actually are? or of any stuff they've done in the past?

I did the exact same thing. WHY keep Chris out of the game. WHY not go back to Frontier. WHY stop developing with Pipeworks. WHY WHY WHY?!

Area 52 itself is new, but the people that work for them seem to have quite a bit of experience working individually on other games. Who's working on this game and what actual experience they may have is unknown.

Pipeworks had frequent blog posts, remember? It was awesome, they showed concept art, 3d renders. Not these guys though.

Yeah I went there but no games were listed so I dunno exactly what their vast experience is or might be... There is a blog post about "one in the chamber" which is some sort of 2D game.

Most of Pipeworks works had very nice detail too.

The Pipeworks guys were very sympathetic, Area 52 did nothing on this forums nor on facebook...really nothing. And atari really want to make us believe that they're an AAA developer --- certainly not! By NO means.

I remember some guy name Dre Roberts... His last post is from December when Area 52 was brought in... total disappointment.

You know you're onto a winner when the company you hire has design errors like this on their website....

I may just be a plain idiot, but where are the errors?

The text is running out of the box and widows/orphans. Design faux pas basically that could've easily been fixed but I guess no one actually checked the design before they uploaded it.

Those old ones (years back) using http://www.3dvip.com/Portfolio/Portfolio2006.htm 3d renders were great. The youtube comments sections were hilarious

So they should really, since they were commercial renders. The guys from 3dVIP originally had a hobbyist render website called 'badnitrus' with a few helpers circa 2001 i think. Those were awesome aswell,if you can still find them of course.

you know, I was looking back. the content that pipeworks made that they showed us and were in the trailer were the only things that looked good. it seems that everything area 52 has made is utter rubbish.

If they stuck with pipeworks, I think we would have seen something far better, that could have met our expectations for this series.

I agree. I think some may have ran Pipeworks out too early.

This is pathetic, considering we're debating on the legitimacy of the developer.

I don't think anyone is doing that, but actions speak louder than words

It's painful to see the difference between those two screenshots. Even RCT3 didn't look as flat and dead as RCTw.

But at least that damned raccoon is on that balloon stand on the right...because I haven't seen enough of THAT so far...Since Atari has talked about how much they've listened to us, I want to know who asked for that raccoon? Who asked for that awful path texture? Who asked for ALL ploppable structures? There must be a crap-ton of you out there...either that or Atari wasn't actually listening to us at all.

I am a much classier raccoon, and do not feel the need to constantly push my grinning mug into anyone and everyone's face (regardless of what my posting history may or may not reflect).
