I made this video a few years back when I bought the digital version of RTC3 on steam. Happy Valentine's Day!

Note: Skip to around 1:30 to see POV. I used to make my intros long for some reason.

USA only?! Wow, that certainly is a kick in the balls... I think a lot of people in this community are not US based. Why not host a worldwide competition? This is really a let down :(!
You might want to add that to the post / thread title. Not all read the rules.

alright i agree its ridiculous that they're holding it to U.S. only, but its probably becuase theyd have to play extra to shipnoverseas, assuming theyre shipping from the US

They are only shipping 10 though, so why should cost be of concern?

The T-shirts are worth $5. I don't think they want to spend more than that to ship the shirts.

I live in the US but I think it should be available worldwide also.

I think its discrimination. If this game was 'USA tycoon' the community would be full of US based peeps. The RCTW community is however a worldwide community and I just can't understand why only US residents are eligible for this contest.
By doing this Atari / Area 52 is being arrogant. 'Hey we are a US based company, so we only care for US citizens!'

Discrimination. Ha. Wow. Smh. If you wanna see discrimination come LIVE in the US, particularly the south.

After all these years. After all the lost hope. You all should be incredibly grateful this game was even mentioned. Cry, cry, cry...did not expect to see so much of it on this forum. The fact they're doing ANYTHING for ANY fan ANYWHERE in the world is outstanding. How many devs do that?

You guys realize this was a fan funded game, right? That Atari went bankrupt? And you realize making games is incredibly expensive and time consuming right?

I'd love a shirt, but I'd rather funds be delegated towards development and not shipping. How about this, stop moaning, enter the contest, and if you guys enter the contest and win, I'll have them send the shirt to me and you can pay for international shipping. Seriously.

I do wish I didn't work all the time and had time to contribute. Wish you would've opened this a week earlier :(

I could care less about "Why this is in the U.S". If you thought THAT was so important then why even bother with the new game. So just be hyped that there will be a new Roller Coaster Tycoon.

OMG you guys. Fr? You've got to be kidding me. Did you ever stop to think that maybe they don't want to go through the trouble of shipping overseas? Also, maybe it's harder to get trademarks and copyrights in other countries did you think of that? Maybe they don't want their products copied, and maybe they don't want to spend the money to send a silly little t-shirt OVERSEAS.

You should seek counseling. You obviously have a lot of built up frustration/emotions, and this thread clearly set you off the edge.

RCTCM, perhaps you could open up an Emotional Support board on the forums?

In all seriousness, does it really bother you that much that other users are upset about it being a U.S.-only contest? I live in the U.S. and even I think it's kinda a slap-to-the-face to RCT fans who live in other countries.

Actually I just highly empathize with game devs and thought some of these comments were unnecessary, and some may be misinformed (if anyone's curious I think it'd be about $25 to ship a shirt internationally). The use of the word discrimination did make me laugh though...

And if you think about it, you did the same thing with my post, which was only one person, so I could suggest the same advice to you. Just saying

A lot of devs do that these days. The fact that you get all excited by about everything does not apply to me. I dont think everything this developer do is holy. If they organize a contest for a worldwide game, they should make it a worldwide contest, or don't do it at all. Shipping a t-shirt costs about $9 (source: http://lerageshirts.com/pages/faq/).
Lets say that half the winners are outside the US, that would mean a staggering $45 shipping cost, thats less than what the average game costs these days. It would say that should not be a problem.

You guys realize this was a fan funded game, right? That Atari went bankrupt? And you realize making games is incredibly expensive and time consuming right?

No this game is not fan funded. Where do you get that idea? Atari went indeed bankrupt but after nobody wanted to buy the rights to the RCT series they started up again. I'm not sure exactly how it went but I'm really sure RCTW is NOT a crowd funded project.

As I said before, if half the winners is outside the US the shipping cost will be a total of $45. $45 can buy you a graphic artist for what, 2 hours? That's peanuts for a game developer who is working on a game for about 2-3 years.

Why ship a $10.00 shirt for $25.00. That is more than double the cost of it so stop complaining about a SHIRT!!!!!!! They probably were thinking that too many pics may crash the site. That is why it is in the U.S

I'm almost positive it has to do with legal reasons and not shipping costs. When a company hosts a contest, they are bound by certain laws based on where the contest is being held. SO for US only contests, they only have to adhere to US Laws. Having a contest run internationally, they would need to adhere to all the international laws as well.

That's a good point Phoenix, could very well be the case. They could have prevented a lot of **** by just telling us that. We still have a ocmmunity manager who is not part of the community >_<

Here is my submission! It was unfinished (that is why there is a lot of empty space) unfortunately, but I put lots of effort into the landscaping. The video recording and editing took me about an hour or two. The whole park itself took a day. I hope you guys enjoy it!
