Bonjour,

Hello,

I found that after some time without news, ChipmundkAtariCS responded to some forum topics.

So I have a few simple questions that I hope will also find an answer:

- is the game still supported (future updates to bug fixes ..)?
- Can we hope for an update with additional content?

Thank you in advance for your answer

The game might recieve bug fixes on occasion, but when and in what way I don't know.

Having hope for an additional content update is not bad to have. Yet I personally not expect any update.

Hi ChipmunkAtariCS,

If Atari / Nvizzio is working on future updates for RCTw, then why didn't they update their internal developer build for over 2 months? It seems like RCTw is not being worked on at all anymore!

In addition to JoëlNL's post, I looked through a number of Nvizzio users on Steam who haven't launched the game since March, November, and December of last year. There was only one who last played on May 6th, two days after the last update.

It seems like most are still working on ROKH, unless there are some anonymous Nvizzio developers still working on RCTW, but I doubt it. Is it possible you could elaborate on the situation ChipmunkAtariCS? I'm sure you can understand why many feel the game has been abandonded.

The simplest way would be for you to give us a date for the next update with the description of the items it will contain. A game is supposed to have a production plan with some official announcements to make players want to wait ...

That doesn't remotely make any sense. Mini-Rides, Dark Rides, and Transport rides were all planned as free new content in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGQ-N2PCBr8&t=2m43s (2:43 if the timestamp doesn't work).

Have any of these been worked on or at least started? I don't understand how you can be working on an update, but have no information to provide on it. I can't think of anything that would have to be kept secret or remain silent about. It's not my intention to be rude, but at the current stage this game is in, how do you expect people to stay up to date for further information and updates when you give them nothing to look forward to?

Unless this supposed update is being done by only one person on a single computer, the internal development build is months old from the last time they put out an update, which is normally how builds are shared and tested in advance of release. And they have no contact with their beta-testing team that I'm aware of. If there really is an 'update' then it certainly won't amount to much other than for bragging rights 'proving' the game is still supported...kinda, sorta.

I don't doubt that Chipmunk was told by someone from Atari that an update is a possibility, but then Atari has told all of us a lot of things that just weren't entirely true either. I'm taking this with a grain of salt big enough to require a wheelbarrow to carry.

What is the estimated date for the release of this update for RCTW?

The fact remains that https://steamdb.info/app/282560/depots/ shows that the internal dev build of RCTW hasn't been updated for over 2 months. This means that there is no development taking place at all, unless Atari decided to develop the game using a build outside of Steam, which is very unlikely at this point.

Sorry but my English is so bad that I prefer to write in French. In any case, the only texts I have written in this forum in English come from google translate. I will make the effort to use google translate afterwards

There won't be any more updates for RCTw.

The problem is that Atari staff is not allowed to admit that.

Hello ChipmunkAtariCS,

I would like to inform you that development of RollerCoaster Tycoon World has ended. The developer has stopped working on updates. Could you please take that into account when answering support enquiries?

Source: https://steamdb.info/app/282560/depots/

Please be aware that stating that the developer is working on updates is equal to spreading false information. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!

Chipmunk sure has been trying to keep this forum looking active, but I wish that this character wasnt lieing :( thats not nice to find out... thanks Joël

I think atari should admit this game was never finished and is still in beta form but obviously this community is just a bunch of trolls, right atari?

Abbittibbi

How is it we fans could believe more lies? When we know the truth, a truth so obvious that it was known before the game was made, before it was even planned.

When I spent 70 canadian dollar buying this title, soon after invited in the closed group, I knew my money would be spent in this forum, filling it here more than the game itself. To me, it was a well invested 70 dollars so I could tell Atari what I had on mind for almost 10 years, and with the help of other testers, block some of the stupidity, which partially worked.

We knew Atari was not capable of producing RCTW, and Frontier would not take part in. So anyone who dare to think that RCTW was to be greater than any previous RCT was lying to himself.

Only experience could have made RCTW better then any previous RCT, and it show, in another game.

Is chimpkunk gone already? Maybe he's hidding in an atarded-box. Not even able to read and understand a simple question, answering with more lies. A bunch of chimps randomly typing to a million typewriters would end up coming faster with a right answer that one reply from Atari.

One has to wonder which trolls are going to buy that atarded-box unfinished product, missing a videocard, a controller connector and with batteries sold seperatly. Ah yeah, and the processor will be available as upgrade in a future patch, someday. No title for games annouced yet. Release price will probably be around 1099.99$ will be dropped 50% in first 6 months, then another 75% by june next year, before it's blamed on us it did not sold as expected.

Regarding the Atari Box;

That is a project of Atari which hasn't even been taken into production yet. Atari wants to do a crowdfunding campaign for the Atari Box first because actually developing and producing those Atari boxes hasn't been financed yet. Kind of an unhealthy tactic for a formerly well known publisher.
