I had my first opportunity to play and build something with the new PxP. It became a western themed saloon. Well, I hope it looks like one :)

2 pictures from the top floor

The left picture is the part where people can sit down and relax. The right picture shows the stairs leading up and the spot to order drinks. Its a pity i couldnt put down glasses :)

feel free to comment.

Very nice! It seems they need to add some more pieces for this to be complete though, like some circular tables and ordinary wooden chairs for instance, so you don't have to use benches and crates as replacements :P

Thank you all for the comments and compliments. :)

And yes Hersheypark, i agree it would fit the picture better if circular tables and normal benches / chairs would be added to the PxP part. Hopefully we can expect that in the near future.

Ill do my best to create something more this weekend.

Instead of starting a new thread ill continue in this one since its the same theme.

The buildings are work in progress and not finished yet.

The last 2 pictures are part of the wooden coaster station. The track itself will be in the abyss you see in the third picture. So visitors can view the track from above or gaze into the distance, dreaming away at the sun-rise, or sun-set. Well, thats the thought behind it :)

The coaster is finished, as well as my issues with Nvidia Geforce Experience. So i hope to be able to make and upload the vid soon. :)

Do you plan on continuing on and creating a whole park around it? I'd love to see a park log of your progress. In fact, I'm working on something of my own that I hope to start sharing pictures of soon.

Forgath

I will do my best to create a log and story around it. In fact I'm having ideas about a western town in the middle, a coaster in the mountains, and perhaps a mostly 'closed' area with water and trees surrounded by high mountains where it rains all the time.

Forgath
03-20-2017, 05:19 AM
I made a few screenshots of the wooden rollercoaster:

715171527153

Data that comes with this coaster:
- excitement: 7.6
- intensity: 8.0
- nausea: 5.1

- highest speed: 77 km/u
- track-length: 729m
- highest drop 21m

I had to put a chain on the track in the end to pull the coaster out of the depth, else people would never to be found again. :p

Yes, the coaster on itself became quite smooth. Not to happy with the ending, but I guess that comes with having to pull the carts up.

A background story:

During the peak years of the American gold rush, in the middle of the 1800's, the wild west was the place to be to search for gold. The town of Sioux Long Lane was part of that. As history showed, the gold rush came and went, as well as the people, resulting in many ghost-towns.

This would have been also the fate of Sioux Long Lane if it was not for a major earthquake that happened, splitting the ground apart, revealing a well preserved Egyptian Temple. The mystery of the temple and its possible hidden treasures attracted people again, searching for wealth.
Quickly though stories arose of men entering the mysterious temple but who were never seen again, giving it a grim atmosphere.

The town became abandoned again for many years, until recently a rich foundation bought the land and created a themepark around it. These days the old temple is for sightseeing, giving also life to the town of Sioux Long Lane. Though some claim to still see wondering souls around the temple, searching for gold.....

Thank you MontyMamba, nice to hear you are liking it. :)

I'm not happy yet with the trees I added. Sure, they add colour, but a cherry blossom tree would fit the theme / scenery better. So I'm going to try and make it during Easter. I'll post pictures how it turns out.

No updates from me today (Thursday) and tomorrow, I have no time to play.

Looking at it, I think the PxP can be used with the western PxP intermingled to create some nice buildings, I'm gonna try to see what combinations I can do when I'm off. Progress is slow, but I'm happy to have this update because I think additional PxP can really, really help this game. Even with everything going on the past year, I can say I still enjoy this game and I enjoy working on my park. Do you do YouTube vids Forgath?

Forgath
04-13-2017, 06:15 AM
I have made a few short vids from coasters, nothing big.
I am having the idea though to make a vid from this park to capture the 'feeling' better. No idea if I come around to it this weekend.

Hello everybody,

I find these creations truly magnificent and congratulates you for this creative work.

Would it be possible for such nice buildings to be shared through the worksop for people like me who like to play this game but are not good at building creations

I found a few minutes to create a willow tree:

I am not sure though if the leaves are large enough / the colour 'green' is intense enough.
Perhaps suggestions?

Nice job on the willow tree! Those always seem to be one of the hardest trees to model, you did a good job.

Thanks for the compliment Wabigbear. I'm not taking all the credits though, i have help from the 'sapling' addon in Blender.

Though I'll say that now I found a way to properly add any kind of leaf texture, it becomes fun to make and add trees, instead of a frustrating and time consuming idea.

I have always found the japanese maple trees something special. With their dark red coloured leaves they added quite some beauty to a garden.

So i gave it a shot:
720272037204

first note: I could not find / download the leaf-texture, so i tackled it differently. The shape of the leaves came with the preset of the tree in the blender-addon, so i only gave it a specific RGB-code.

second note: this file became twice as large (as recommended) due to an extra layer of branches.

feedback is appreciated.

Trees look great Forgath, I'm about to try to download them now. I think they'll go great with the oriental PxP from the last update. Anyone messed around with the medieval PxP yet? I look at the medieval ceilings and roofs. They look like they will be extremely useful as far as providing roofing. I can see myself using those roofs a lot. Things are shaping up and I hope the updates continue, I do think things are getting better.

I have not uploaded them yet to the workshop MontyMamba. I'd like to create a green leaf version as well and then upload them. Free time is in short supply for me these days but i intend to do it this weekend.

And no i have not tried out the new PxP set yet. It looks nice yes but i would have preferred focus on other issues.
